Coming
out from the new belgian scene, the TAXIDERMISTS have just recorded a
stunning cover version of an ultra rare Polyphonic Size track : Party
(from the 1980 Pragmatic Songs EP). The tune is mixed with an incredible
french translation of "I Wanna Be Your Dog", and a couple of
Jacques Dutronc 60's verses. This magical electrocollage must be absolutely
downloaded. Don't miss it. The Taxidermists have also recorded a smashing
tribute to Taxi Girl, called B.R.U.X.L.

PARTY DOG (5mn 30 / 7,5 Mo)

So,
here is our cover of Polyphonic Size's very own "Party".
This is a bastard cover, some sort of three-headed hydra. Indeed, when
we dissected the instrumental (in order to rearrange it), we noticed a
riff identical to the Stooges' "I wanna be your dog". Coincidence?
One would have to ask Roger-Marc Vande Voorde. Anyway, what a stroke ofluck
since David had already translated the lyrics of "I wanna be your
dog" in French. We wanted to record a "yéyé"
cover of the tune. We have a collection of different covers of this Iguana
song, in many different languages (even in Walloon! - southern Belgian
dialect), but we'd never heard or heard of a cover of the track in French.
So, we decided to mix both covers together. Then, while listening to Jacques
Dutronc's "Et moi et moi et moi", Nathan noticed many verses
with rhymes very similar to David's translation of "I wanna be your
dog". We decided to add them too. The final result was named "Party
Dog" and lasts for 5 minutes & 28 seconds. Arolde sings the backing
vocals.
